Meet the Photographer

Hey, I'm Josh Hall

I am a sports photographer based in Spearfish, South Dakota, with a lifelong connection to athletics, particularly hockey. My experience as an athlete allows me to anticipate moments and capture both the physical intensity and emotional weight of competition. Currently pursuing a photography degree at Black Hills State University, my practice includes studio, commercial, and graphic design work.

My photography is regularly used by Black Hills State University Athletics and the Rapid City Rush. Over the past two years, I placed 2nd in the Division II Photographer of the Year and earned multiple American Advertising Awards. I focus on capturing the celebrations, tension, and quiet in-between moments that reveal the human side of sports.
