On June 24, 1994, Tina Marie Marcotte went missing after calling a friend for a ride home from work due to a flat tire; coworker Tom Kueter, who was leaving work at the same time, offered to drive her instead. Three days later, Tom was found dead in the lumberyard with his head crushed beneath the rear tire of a forklift. His death was controversially labeled a suicide by police, suggesting he jumped from the machine as it rolled backward. On October 11, 1995, her decomposing body was discovered beneath a stack of logs in a remote section of the yard, and investigators determined she had died from blunt-force trauma to the head.
